I've hit the big time. Quoted by FLCCC! I can't recall where I learned about pistachios containing melatonin. So I welcome all this real sleuthing by FLCCC. I have known that most off the shelf melatonin supp's have excessive amounts. they actually give me a hangover (excessive seratonin I'm guessing) . can't recall the brand but one I've tried is .3 mg, extended release.

Thank you for sharing your best tips. And this follow up is great. My daughter loves pistachios, good fine motor activity too. She reacts negatively to melatonin, keeps her awake, I’ll have to see if pistachios coincide with sound sleep or wakefulness. She’s often up at night, sometimes, doesn’t go back to bed.

I thought anything "extended release " contains some chemical or other that's bad.

I don't know. I always assumed it was the method of encapsulation and formulating the little particles inside. I tried it once or twice but prefer e.g. passion flower, holy basil, ashwagandha, or l-theanine. (I've tried them all :)

Also make sure to buy Organic Pistachios! Or all your work to stay healthy is for naught. Conventional pistachios are grown with many pesticides and at harvest sprayed with glyphosate aka Roundup.

The one time I tried pistachios left me wondering what anyone saw in them.

I love your work; just want to mention one thing; the corporate farm behind the "Wonderful" brand was caught using industrial waste water (ie, loaded with toxic chemicals) to water their pistachios. Be careful about what kind you buy. Organic is best, but even that isn't always a protectant against some of the crap out there.

On Dr. Syed Haider's Substack, he said, "The shots as well as other "countermeasures" like lockdowns, suppression of effective early treatments, overuse of opioids behind the closed doors of hospitals and nursing homes, overuse of ineffective and harmful (but very profitable) remdesivir, finishing patients off on a ventilator, or simply starving them to death locked in the hospital "covid unit".

For me, it absolutely strains credulity to think that our fellow Americans were actually starved to death in COVID units... However, when you list these other, 'Crimes Against Humanity' and violations of the Nuremberg Code...

1) The shots as well as other "countermeasures"

2) like lockdowns,

3) suppression of effective early treatments, 4) overuse of opioids behind the closed doors of hospitals and nursing homes,

5) overuse of ineffective and harmful (but very profitable) remdesivir.

6) finishing patients off on a ventilator,

Then why is it that I can't believe that patients were,

"simply starved to death locked in the hospital "covid units"?

This is a beautiful Substack. My vaccine injured son with Autism taught us so much about nutrition, with a focus on reducing inflammation.

Between his nutrition lifestyle (not a diet), and getting thrown out of the gym during Covid, I did a number of re-sets in the last 5+ years. I really feel great at 60.

Here was I thinking walnuts contain the highest amount of melatonin... any nut roasted loses melatonin... try staring at the blue sky for ten minutes a day.. it makes your pineal gland build melatonin.. avoid blue night at night.. incandescent... or natural flame instructs the body to release melatonin... mist comes from the gut... if you have reflux... it’s a sure sign you are low on melatonin because when it’s released before you retire to sleep.. it causes the lower esophageal sphincter to close tightly...

Very interesting regarding the lower esophageal sphincter, night/ tight closing and melatonin

My daughter, when younger, was often sick/vomiting two hours after going to sleep. We found avoiding acidic food stopped it. Nothing with tomato.

She reacts opposite to sleep when we have given her a melatonin supplement. She’s super awake, can last for two nights.

I’ll read the article

Some get overloaded with serotonin… when they use the synthetic version of melatonin… seek a plant based melatonin….

Furthermore.. if you go above 300 mcg doses you trigger the opposite effect in some.. you can reset by stopping for a day or two then use a very low dose …

Another method for restful sleep …switch to Rhodiola with Cannabis extract .. Juvamine Laboratories based in France sell online.

Also consider magnesium especially these two Threonate or Glycinate.

Please read my last again… it is thought low level B12 (vegans) can upset that fine balance tween serotonin and melatonin… just a thought.

He lost me with the protein drink

Expand full comment

not sure what you mean.....but I do try to get 165 grams of protein each day. (about 1 g per lb of body weight). Protein powder is used to top off whatever my diet doesn't provide. sarcopenia is a real thing--a condition. atrophy of muscle tissue. two things help with that: resistance training and protein intake.

Milk and its byproducts are inflammatory ie. Whey casein and soy additives. We are the only species that believes it is imperative to drink another mammals mothers milk to build muscle and bone. We are duped by the dairy industry and the money that follows it. Eat your protein, don’t drink it. If you want to live to be a hundred research a non inflammatory diet.

But... there are many sources of protein powder besides dairy.

That may be true, but what about the level of linoleic acid (omega 6's) in pistachios? Studies are showing that too much of that is bad for our arteries and it seems that we get that from just about everything we eat!

The Sound of Freedom

This is a true story. I watched an hour long interview with Tim Ballard, the subject of this movie, and Jim Caviezel. Tim quit his job as a Department of Homeland Security Special Agent so that he could literally, 'save the kids'.

He is 'The Real Deal'. Jim Caviezel is the actor who plays him in this movie.

These men are literally doing 'God's Work', Tim, by performing this work, and Jim by shining a light on this literal EVIL that is among us. For instance, at my workplace, two men were fired and incarcerated within the last 6 months for child pornography. That happened because they were 'incautious' enought to watch it on a government computer. Think of how many are watching on their private computers, and don't get caught. This is a huge problem worldwide, and our country is a primary contributor to this (no other word for it but)…….. Pure Evil.

We have a moral obligation to do what we can to fight against this….

Please help.

Please take a material step and stand up for goodness, on this Independence Day.

Thank you, Elizabeth

Seems like there's no such thing as the perfect diet. While we should be aware of what we're consuming, and follow general guidelines, being overly obsessive about it could even be a negative thing.

So, is the conclusion here that the 3 grams is enough to take the place of melatonin tablets?
