I live in Ecuador and you can read all the ingredients. Canned goods have for instance have 3 or 4 ingredients. A can of corn says corn, water, sugar and salt. Then it says no colorants or preservatives. Our food is clean. Everyone who moves here from No America loses weight. Also our inflation is less than 2% because this country does not spend all its money on military. Most problems in the country are fueled by CIA interference.

Got an extra room?? Lol.

Actually yes I do but not offering it. For $250 a month I have 3 bedrooms and a huge terrace. Could never have survived in America with my pittance of social security but I am happy here in this World Heritage City with a free symphony. The US is not the best place to live, far from it.

What is childpro?

Sorry for late reply. Don't use this often. Child Protection Project is a non profit to expose the child abuse in polygamy and Mormonism. The website is static as I am retired but left it up for people to see. www.childpro.org

Wow! Ive been saying that. They have everyone convinced America is the best place to be so they stay put and continue letting them steal half of everything they earn and then some while getting absolutely nothing in return. With the other half they have to pay for EVERYTHING including the dirty water they supply. My guess is there are many better places to live.

Confusion in labeling is by design and this is a good introduction but it would be helpful to note that corn has over 100 ways to hide including as Vitamin C and claims like "Natural" have no legal definitions. It's also helpful to know what third party labels have value and which are just bogus industry created stamps to mislead & Consumer Reports has fab section for those.

My friends and family have recently discovered the Yuka App (free). https://yuka.io/en/

It works by scanning barcodes of food and cosmetics.

It’s a good guide to self-educate, especially about additives, and gives good suggestions.

Taking it to the store definitively influences your purchasing decisions.

Apparently a large chain store in France is reconfiguring their in-house brands to reduce additives because of influence of Yuka.

Thank you for posting this info.

Watch out too for “keto” and “low carb” labels. Check the ingredients for yourself, because many of those products still include veg oils and artificial sweeteners such as sucralose. 🤦‍♀️

Since when is food fat (beyond what Neil said) to be avoided? Didn't Dr. Paul Marik speak to this recently? So why is the fear-of-food-fat showing up here???

Expand full comment

Probably because it’s a different author. Some folks still believe that fat should be limited. 🤷🏼‍♀️

As for our household, no “reduced fat” anything here. Full fat in its natural state, please. 😄

Thank you for the information... every pediatrician’s office should have these lists on the wall to read , for that matter ... in all medical offices.

More people need to know this. I became aware of it years ago, sadly I didn't always care. Today I only eat foods with ingredients like this:

Ingredients: Organic Broccoli

Ingredients: Wild Caught Salmon

Ingredients: 100% Grass Fed Beef

If an item has more than one ingredient it's sea salt.

According to the cursor the first graphic is of "woman in yellow sweater holding red and white box".

And I thought Dr Marik warned us off fruits as containing too much sugar, while fat is okay.

Surprised MSG was not mentioned.

My family is gluten free and when I do bake for them- I pretty much have to use xanathan gum for the recipes to hold together- although the amounts seem small. Why is this a bad emulsifier? And is there a substitute?

I think it disrupts the gut microbiome.

"Rice brain syrup"? Please tell me you meant rice BRAN syrup?

Other than that, spot on.

What about “bioengineered “ being on the label?

So what exactly are “natural flavors?”

Expand full comment

Apparently some natural flavors come from beaver anal glands. 🤦‍♀️ Being as it IS a natural source, they aren’t lying.

Other natural flavors can have equally dubious origins, as I understand it. Although I don’t have examples.
