Let me expound on this comment if any VA apparatchiks are reading this post. On 3 March 2023, VA central office in Washington, DC stated that masking requirements in VA hospitals would be relaxed.
Guess the Pittsburgh VA hospital did not get the memo. Pittsburgh is located in Allegheny County and according to the Health Dept., the transmission level is "low."
My last visit to the Pittsburgh VA hospital was on 5 May. Signs all over the hospital that masks are required or entry and medical care will be denied.
Is that how you treat veterans who at one time signed a blank check to give up their lives to defend the United States?
We cannot even sit next to each other to chat because every other chair is still blocked off...no doubt "science."
Plexiglas is still up because the VA knows that covid and germs cannot float above the Plexiglas...no doubt "science" again. Lots of vets have hearing loss from being in noisy environments while in the military. The Plexiglas dampens the conversation along with the clerks wearing a mask.
Covid emergency was officially over on 11 May 2023.
Thanks for spelling it out. At first it might not seem monumental but it is. These are not small issues.... the plexiglass, the masks, the distance. There is a continued and "agreed upon stupidity" behind these mandates, plus an unspoken agreement to give up some of our humanity. Lot of vets have PTSD or Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Wearing a mask can increase anxiety and depression levels. Imagine a woman, or man, who was sexually assaulted while in the military and their attacker put their hand over their mouth to silence them. Wearing a mask can bring back that trauma over and over again.
I have pulmonary problems incurred while on active duty. My oxygen level dropped to 93 while wearing a mask and the nurse asked me, "are your oxygen levels always so low"?
Duh...I am wearing a mask that restricts my breathing.
I feel that we are reduced to nameless and faceless entities.

They probably don’t keep preaching on the importance of vitamin d supplementation to reduce suicide risk . There was a study done on veteran population showing close to 50 % risk reduction in suicide with adequate vitamin D levels and effect was more pronounced in black veterans . This study results should be all over the media but unfortunately there’s crickets!!

So you have a pathogen that causes acute kidney disease and failure and a poorly devised and inefficient drug that also causes kidney injury and this results in an additive effect from the pathogen Covid and the failed therapeutic Remdesivir
